From the President's Desk...
As the Founder and Director of the Ms. Senior Jacksonville Pageant, I am excited and honored to have this opportunity to introduce the crowning of our 3rd Annual Ms. Senior DIVA and 9th Annual Ms. Senior Jacksonville. Ms. Senior Jacksonville and DIVA Pageant will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Jacksonville at the University Center of the University of North Florida at 2:00 PM. This day will be one to remember when ladies aged 60 and above showcase an opening number to a musical oldie and exude their confidence by modeling evening gowns of their choice. The ladies will simplistically share their talent, and eloquently, their words of wisdom.
Research shows that as women age, they feel under-valued, lack empowerment, feel depressed and overall lack confidence and self worth. Ms. Senior Jacksonville is an opportunity for our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, friends, and associates to be recognized, feel valued, beautiful, and empowered as “special” ladies in our senior citizen community.
In March 2008, Mayor Peyton noted his goal is for “Jacksonville to become the most senior friendly city in the State of Florida”. What better way to acknowledge our seniors than for Ms. Senior Jacksonville to proudly represent her peers and our beautiful city and to participate in the Ms. Senior Florida pageant.Your sponsorship is welcomed, appreciated, and will speak volumes when seniors, their families, and our community witness the positive outcomes of pageantry for senior women and their families and friends. Just imagine the rewards, the joyful tears, the big smiles, and the difference when our senior women embrace new friendships and regain their confidence!
